It’s horrible that all these stars are leaving us, but if this Martin kicks the bucket, there will be riots on the streets. There will – literally – be more rape and bloodshed than on the show or in the books. I mean… people will start killing themselves just so they can go to the afterlife and hear how the story goes from him. Amirite or hwat?
Well it’s not about him dying though, he’s joking that he wrote 2016 because, like his stories, everyone dies.
Has his TV series passed up the book series as far as the story length?
Yes, the series are a bit further down the murder hole, but as the show creators have said many times – the show is ‘based’ on the books and maintains a level of autonomy from the original sauce. Which in Martin’s terms means – he gets to kill character who are alive on the show 😀
Carrie Fisher, noooo. You bastard! I’m so done with this year, can it be over now please?
Did she die?! She didnt surive the heart attack?! :O
It wasn’t a heart attack, it was a sudden cardiac arrest (though it’s possible it could have been brought on by a heart attack.) It was reported originally that she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest on the plane. I know little about medicine but as I understand it, 95% of people who experience sudden cardiac arrest die from it. The ones who do survive may have extensive brain damage as a result. As soon as I heard that she had a cardiac arrest on an airplane, I knew for certain she wouldn’t be doing any more acting even if she survived, which was really unlikely. Heart attack is much easier to survive and bounce back from than cardiac arrest.
Yeah, it’s pretty fucked up. Your heart’s not supposed to just stop when you’re 60 years old. I’d feel a tiny bit less bad if I understood what caused it.
All the drugs might have made her body weaker than it normally would
I know she was heavily into cocaine in the 1970s, but so were almost all the stars then. Did she keep the habit? Or do you mean the drugs for bipolar disorder?
I don’t know, I’m just babbling haha.
Usually if someone needs CPR, they aren’t going to come out of it back at 100%. I think it is 30% chance of being normal after CPR if you are a healthy person in their early 20s. As you age and develop other illnesses, the percentage drops significantly. Not only is there a risk of brain damage, but you also have broken ribs, permanent heart damage, or other organ failure. Even a possibility of losing limbs due to lack of blood flow. Had a patient here once who had an arrest and was intubated and put on a heart pump. His perfusion was so bad he lost both arms and legs. Imagine waking up to that. I believe he was in his late 20’s or early 30’s. That’s why if I ever develop a chronic illness, I am going to make myself a DNR. Or at least no compressions.
That’s terrible, but valuable info. Thank you.
Grr Martin wrote this on the 14th of January – so 2016 had killed enough people for him to take credit for it within 2 weeks of starting!
Fuck this year and all who ride in her.
right god picked the wrong guy to cover him this year
that or god is the bad guy and the bible is a story written to make him sound like the good guy
FYI, this is a parody account, doesn’t make it feel any less true.
Super sad today. 🙁
