I don’t care if it requires a Democratic vote or a Dictatorial mandate, this must be made a thing.
This is horrible, awful and etc…
It should be done.
When my son was 4, we took him to the CNE (think state fair, only larger). He didn’t sleep well the night before, and was very tired when we got off the train in Toronto, and there were supposed to be strollers available to rent there (of course, there weren’t). So, we’re in the food building, and he has a meltdown. I’m sympathetic, but since I have autism, I really get it. Not everyone has this outlook, especially in a relatively confined space. I just took him outside, and told him to scream to his heart’s content. It lasted 30 seconds, and he was okay after that.
The reason for this story is that after this, I have a lot more compassion for parents of children. Yes, some parents are stupid in their parenting, but most just don’t know how to deal.
Or they’ve been dealing alllll daaaaay and just can’t anymore.
Props to you, btw… Sometimes that need to scream for several seconds persists into adulthood. Like me…right now. :
you went to the ex without me? how rude!
I’ve helped a few mothers out by talking sternly to their kids, when their kids are clearly acting feral while out shopping. “Hey!! Ive had enough of this. Listen to your mother” and point my finger at them.
Ive even done it via the phone to my nieces overseas when they were younger. Their dad was off on duty and sis called me saying they were all being little turds. Told them i was going to fly over there and kick their arses
A long time ago this was actually a thing called “it takes a village to raise a kid”.
And, as usual, the few assholes ruined for the rest.
Took me a while to realise that Kroger might be a place, not a fictional language.
