Can’t really see a major advantage, help me out?
Easier to clean? Depending on how vulnerable the construction is, looks easier to maintain. I see no spokes, no chain. No brakes or gears either. Definitely ‘hmmmm’.
I foresee the bushings or bearings that support the weight on the Wheel needing lots of love.
And I wonder how they transmit the force from the pedals to the wheel.
From what I understand, there is a ring of teeth on the outer Rim.
There isnt really one.
The wheel itself would have to be vastly stronger than current spoke’d designs to compensate for all weight support being on just the rim.. so weight and cost would probably go up to negative roi levels
If intent is to prevent stuff from getting in between the spoke and fork and causing some kind of jam.. get wheel covers. They exist and sone look pretty good.
There is a reason the design of the wheel has been unchanged for ages.
I see no practical advantage. It sure does look cool though.
I thought I heard that someone had talked about this at an inventors forum, apparently.. no one spoke.
Maybe they weren’t geared up for it…
That was a thing of beauty!
Truer spokes were never whirred.
I’d imagine more difficult to ride as the weight isn’t centered as low
