I could imagine in an Asian country a top official releasing the equivalent of $1m as compensation and the next level authorises $500,000 and the next level authorising $250,000 etc …. but this seems like someone in authority doesn’t care. ….oh, the US Government…. yes, of course, now I get it.

“I want to commit the murder I was imprisoned for.”

For anyone wondering, this is an old story and this man, Lawrence McKinney, has since been a lot more heavily compensated. Hes being given $1m over a number of years in monthly installments. Maybe not enough to make up for imprisoning him for over 30 years, but certainly better than $75.

The old soviet anecdote incoming. Duck and cover.
A guy in court is getting sentenced to a few months in prison for distilling alcohol.
    – But I didn’t brew any! – claims the guy.
    – They found the distilling apparatus at your home! – parries the judge.
    – …Then you should also judge me for rape.
    – Did you rape someone?!
    – No. But I do have the apparatus.
