My goal is to be able to retire and live comfortably even if I live another 40 years. At the rate I’m investing in my retirement, I should reach this goal at about age 106.

Retirement should stop being about trying to hang on as long as possible while making little contribution to society, instead it should be about cashing in everything we own and doing all the drugs, booze and hookers we wished we had done earlier in our life with the idea of basically having a send off party to end all send off parties.

        That’s a damned good idea.

It’s amazing how every pretends he surely gets that old.

    • I’m actually constantly amazed that I’m still alive.

Me, too, for real reasons. Must have worn out at least the 25th guardian angel by now.

Retire at 62?. I’m 63 this year with no retirement date in mind for a long time. I enjoy what I do and it keeps me fit and active. Financially I can’t retire either. Sure, if I sell my house… then where do I live? (Not a retirement home, jeez!! full of oldies in there) Government pension? Basic subsistence level, that’s not living.
