I would take this over getting pumped with chemicals, getting put in a tin can, and buried in a concrete box, (which the most common here in my part of the US with cremation being a close 2nd) any day.

      Concrete box? Like a tomb?

      • a455olds

Not really. In the cemeteries around here they mandate that you have what they call a vault. It is actually a concrete box that is put in the ground that is just big enough to fit the casket in. They are supposed to prevent the ground from settling and leaving a depression where you are buried https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c063102025253f2bcacb2260aac56ef92cb7fbc3ef7cdabd7159c3694f0545d9.jpg

“Protect casket investment”? are you gonna dig it up in 10 years and sell it on at a profit? What’s the market like for 2nd hand coffins?

“Sorry Grandma, rent is due. We got you this nice cardboard box it’ll be just as good.”

        • FFrost

The 5th benefit they avoid saying is, “prevents zombie apocalypse.”

All my ‘pets’ have been buried with a fruit tree on top, the humans get burned (incinerated?) and scattered on the wind

And Ender Wiggins will be saying eulogies.

I feel a strange woody coming on …….

  • BearnieZardoz

Maybe the pod is new, but the idea to bury people below a tree isn’t really new. These things happen. Over here at least with the one condition that it’s an urn that gets buried, not a pod with a body in it.

imagine the shitstorm when they want to cut them down for lumber

Guaranteed forests. Too much of an issue to cut down grave-trees.

Do you want ents? Because this is how you get ents.

    • Andre Poreskin

I’d like to have some Ents…

    Inappropriate use of the semicolon.

    • a455olds

I have never gotten a handle on when to use a semicolon vs a colon. Grammar has never been my strong suit.

In this case I would have would have used a comma instead of the semicolon and eliminated the comma after pods. Feel free to correct me if i’m wrong.

And when the zombies start rising from their graves, they’ll have a hell of a time getting free of the roots. It’s win-win.

Cremation has been the choice for my older family members.

What kind of tree hugging hippie crap is this?
